- ½ cup hot water

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 cup shredded coconut or crushed pretzels
- ¼ cup melted chocolate (to help shape the nest)
- Candy eggs (Mini Cadbury Eggs, M&Ms, or jellybeans)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cupcake Batter
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until combined. Slowly add the dry ingredients.
- Stir in hot water (batter will be thin—this is normal).
2. Bake the Cupcakes
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
3. Make the Chocolate Frosting
- Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and milk, beating until fluffy.
4. Create the Chocolate Nests
- In a small bowl, mix shredded coconut or crushed pretzels with melted chocolate.
- Shape into small "nests" and place them on wax paper to set.
5. Decorate the Cupcakes
- Pipe chocolate frosting onto cooled cupcakes.
- Gently press a chocolate nest on top of each frosted cupcake.
- Fill each nest with candy eggs for a festive touch.
