Ingredients
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup applesauce unsweetened
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup coconut oil melted + cooled to room temp (or butter/margarine)
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 2 cups whole wheat Flour (or oat or almond flour)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
Prepare the Oven
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a greased 8×4 loaf pan.
Mix the Batter
In a bowl, mix molasses, maple syrup, applesauce, egg, almond milk + coconut oil (or butter) until smooth. Add in whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and spices. Mix until combined.
Pour & Bake
Pour batter into greased 8×4 loaf pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out completely clean when inserted in the center of the bread.
Cool & Enjoy
Allow the bread to cool for 30 minutes before removing from the pan. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
