What it is

What is a company wellness program?

A company wellness program is an employer sponsored initiative that gives employees access to nutrition education, health screenings, and one on one support so they can build habits that last past the workday. The strongest programs are built around real food and real schedules, not generic advice.

At Live Nourished Today Nutrition, our company wellness programs are led by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, not wellness coaches or fitness influencers. That distinction matters. Our Registered Dietitians can speak to blood sugar management, GLP-1 medication support, and clinical nutrition topics with the training to back it up, while keeping sessions approachable for a lunchroom or conference hall full of employees who just want practical answers.

We work with corporate offices, schools, medical practices, fitness facilities, and community organizations throughout Texas, offering both virtual and in person formats so distributed teams and single site offices can both participate fully. The research

Why employers invest in workplace nutrition

Nutrition affects far more than the cafeteria line. Public health and employer research groups have documented the impact of workplace wellness programs for years.

Lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes for adults with prediabetes who complete a structured lifestyle change program.

45%

Of a typical adult's day is spent at work, which is why federal researchers treat the workplace as a key setting for health.

This approach lines up with the NIOSH Total Worker Health model, which treats employee wellbeing and workplace safety as connected goals rather than separate line items, and with guidance from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on the role credentialed nutrition professionals play in that picture.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a company wellness program?

It is a set of employer sponsored services, such as nutrition education, health fairs, and individual counseling, designed to help employees build healthier habits, manage chronic conditions, and reduce stress. When led by a Registered Dietitian, the focus stays on food, blood sugar, energy, and sustainable behavior change rather than generic advice.

How much do corporate wellness programs cost?

Pricing depends on group size, format, session length, and any add-ons like healthy snack stations or take-home materials. Because a single lunch and learn is priced very differently than an ongoing quarterly program, we quote each request individually after a short discovery call.

Do employees have to pay out of pocket for nutrition counseling?

Often not. Employees can book one on one sessions with a Registered Dietitian, and since many major insurance plans cover nutrition counseling, a number of employees end up paying $0 out of pocket depending on their specific plan. See our rates and insurance page for details.

Can wellness programs be delivered virtually?

Yes. Lunch and learns, wellness webinars, and individual counseling sessions can all run virtually, which is useful for hybrid teams, multiple office locations, or companies with employees spread across different cities.

What topics can a wellness presentation cover?

Popular topics include meal prep for busy schedules, blood sugar balance and diabetes prevention, stress and emotional eating, GLP-1 nutrition support, mindful eating, sports nutrition and hydration, and healthy grocery shopping on a budget. We typically choose topics together based on employee interest.

How long does a typical session run?

Most sessions run 60 to 90 minutes, including a presentation and live Q&A. Health fairs and larger wellness events can run longer depending on the number of stations and activities involved.

Who can benefit from a company wellness program?

Corporate offices, schools, medical practices, fitness facilities, and community organizations all benefit. Any group looking to support employee health, reduce burnout, and strengthen workplace culture is a good fit.

In their words

What clients say

"Merisa has been wonderful for me and my teenage son to work with. She helps us both understand nutrition and become more aware of what we eat, in a way that keeps him engaged instead of tuning out."

Valerie S.

"I have years of poor habits and misinformation around food to work through, and Merisa simply meets you where you are. The goals we set are always manageable, and I love that she checks in between appointments."

Lauren B.
